So you've forgotten your acer recovery password and can't perform a factory recovery on your Acer laptop? all you need to do it boot up with your favourite linux live cd, mount the PQService parition.
In the partition you should be able to locate the file aimdrs.dat, open it with notepad.
Now you see the password and password tip and you can edit it.
that simple.
